Leitchoums is another of La Plagne’s largely under-used pistes due to its remoteness and the fact it seems as though the only access is via the Col de Forcle drag lift. In truth, it’s also possible to get to this run by going straight on at the bottom of the Petite Rochette piste off Grande Rochette as well as taking Roc du Diable off the Blanchets piste. The run itself starts with a long gliding section on fairly narrow pathway before taking a sharp left turn and widening as it nears the Colosses chair. At this point, you’ll need to hope you built up enough speed to get over the long flat section (there are always people walking here). If you have the confidence, there are a couple of slightly steeper sections that precede the flat which you should aim to straightline in order to avoid walking. The run then steepens as it nears Bellecôte – but, really, with the exception of absolute beginners, pretty much all riders should handle this run without issue.
