More info
The runs fanning out from the top of the Arpette chair are some of the best confidence-building pistes anywhere in any resort. These easy-going blues mix long, cruising flats interspersed with slightly steeper sections on the way down – perfect for testing new skills and reinforcing what you’ve learned. The Arpette is the same with gentle, flowing sections and impressive views over to Grande Rochette, Les Verdons, Biolley and the main La Plagne bowl. Beginner / early intermediate riders will love it. The only drawback of this piste is the busy lift that awaits to get back up. The Arpette chair was officially the busiest lift in La Plagne last year and, as a main arterial lift out of Bellecôte (it’s the primary way to get over to Montchavin / Les Arcs) it suffers badly from queues, at almost any time of day. As a result, if you want to maximise your riding time, you may well be better choosing other options. After all, La Plagne has a plethora of good blue runs scattered all round the resort.
