Description

More info

The Montchavin piste is an enjoyable red through the trees in the lower third of the Montchavin sector. The run is accessed from the Mont Blanc blue – you can find it by turning left off the main run as you near the route to the Vanoise Express (it’s easy to see and well signposted). This long, fast red is also served by the chair of the same name and runs all the way down the village base station. Due to its low altitude, it can become icy in times of low snow – or, later in the season, first thing in the morning. Depending on where you’re staying, this piste might be your fastest way home as it runs past some of the more remote accommodation above the main Montchavin village.
