Dou du Praz is mostly overlooked by visitors to La Plagne – mainly because it doesn’t seem as though it serves any purpose. The main run to the side (Soleil) is short and uninteresting – and the other options (Bretelle Trieuse to the right and Dou du Praz) also seem rather pointless. And in many ways, they are – until you scratch the surface and realise these runs allow you access to areas that you’d otherwise have to take the Bergerie chair to get to. In the busiest times of the season, a ride on the Bergerie can take up to 25-30 minutes due to the sheer mass of people. Conversely, the Dou du Praz lift rarely has any queues yet grants quick access across to Bellecôte (on the Bretelle Trieuse run) or 1800 (on the Dou du Praz piste, thereby avoiding the normally busy Écartée piste). Just be aware this is an extending rope drag lift – which some riders find more difficult than the traditional pole variety.
