More info
The Glacier four-man chair takes you to the second highest point in La Plagne – as well as giving you the most spectacular views across the domain, Trois Vallées, Champany, Grande Casse, the Isère valley and Les Arcs. The only way is down from here on either the Déversoir red or Chiaupe black. Neither of these runs are as tough as their grading might suggest – however this still isn’t the territory for beginner riders. You’d be best advised to be a confident intermediate at least. The chair takes a direct line up the hill to reach the summit in around 4 minutes. La Plagne used to offer glacial summer riding in this area however, due to global warming, this isn’t actually a bona fide glacier anymore (the ice retreated long ago). Due to the altitude though, good snow is pretty much assured through the winter months.
